About this Painting: I was on safari in Zimbabwe in 1998 where our group toured several national parks. I found several rivers and streams that were captivating with churning white foam. This painting depicts a stream on the top of a mountain in Zimbabwe overlooking the border into Mozambique. This particular stream was rushing over several large boulders. The water had a luminous cast because of the way the light was shining and reflecting from the rocks. I completed a quick watercolor sketch and did the final painting in oil on canvas.
